Pittwater Mini Golf – the best putt putt on the beaches

Pittwater Mini Golf

During the school holidays one of my favourite things to do is take my son to Pittwater Mini Golf. We have of course visited on weekends but mini golf with a three year old princess can swiftly become a nightmare.

There are 2 courses of 18 holes all set within a pirate theme.

Just note that this is not an indoor activity. Both courses are completely outdoors and in the open.

It bills itself as the best Mini Golf or Putt Putt and for Sydney, especially on the North Shore and Northern Beaches, I would have to say it is the best that I know of.

This post will tell you everything you need to know to visit.

Where is Pittwater Mini Golf

Pittwater Mini Golf is in Warriewood, on Pittwater Road in the Pittwater Golf Centre.

You can see it from the road but unfortunately, by the time you see it on the road, you’ve often missed the turn off.

Address

The official address is 1500 Pittwater Rd, Warriewood NSW 2102.

Parking

There is parking on site.

In fact, be careful where you park. Don’t park too close to the Mini Golf fence. My son nearly hit my car on the first hole on the one course.

The Putt Putt Experience

Before you begin

First of all you’ve got to measure yourself up against the coloured table on the wall to see which size putter to use. That in itself is always fun. Pay for your course at the counter – either 18 holes which is one course or 36 which means you’ll go along both course*. Then you choose the colour of your ball.

* For kids 6 and under I wouldn’t do more than one course, they tend to lose interest pretty quickly. Or they just get really frustrated at not being that good at it.

Choosing a course

As I said, there are two courses to choose from. Both have their fun elements to them.

There is the “Caves” course which as its name suggests takes you through a tunnel. The tunnel is a hole through a large embankment. If I recall correctly you go through this twice on consecutive holes.  This course is pretty flat and winds around on mostly one level.

The other course is “Shipwreck”. The reason for the name is that the course goes up and over a large shipwreck replicae. I think I preferred this course as it was a bit more exciting but it has seen more wear and tear than the Caves course.

Pittwater Facilities

Thankfully there are bathrooms close by – between the counter area and the courses.

There is a café on site which you can get full meals should you be starving after you’ve been around the course.

Opening Hours

Pittwater Mini Golf is open 7 days a week from 8am to 9pm.

The last mini golf game starts at 8pm.

On public holidays Mini Golf is open from 10pm to 5pm. I would assume then that the last game starts at 4pm.

There may be some exclusions on Public Holidays though that we are not aware of.

Just note that it does get very busy on the warm weekends.

    1. Oh it is great fun, as long as you don’t have a princess who spends the whole time picking up everyones balls and relocating them 🙂
